What does it cover?
Bupa Worldwide Health Options is composed of a number of different insurance modules which you can choose from so you can build the health cover you need. Everyone must have the core Medical Insurance module. This is designed to cover you for major items of medical expense. Essentially, it provides you with cover if you need to be admitted to a hospital either as a day case or if you require admission. In addition it covers you for expensive scans (MRI, CAT & PET) and outpatient treatment of cancer.

In addition you can request cover for pre-existing conditions and also cover for the USA.

Worldwide Health Options is ideal for people who need or want international cover. If you travel frequently, you can rest assured that wherever you are you are covered. If you need cover for the US you must purchase additional cover but apart from this there are no geographic restrictions. But for many people the complete freedom of choice as to who provides your treatment or where you receive it is one of the most important features. The modular structure enables you to tailor your cover to your own needs.

Do I have to wait for treatment?
You can apply for cover for pre-existing conditions. This will increase the cost.
There are also the following waiting periods:
- 10 months for maternity
- 3 years for long term prescriptions on the Medicines and Equipment module
- 1 year for a full health screening on the Wellness Module
